For future soldiers or other soldiers on your team, your thought should be this: Is he/she expressing a desire to go? Have they shown any leadership capabilities? Are they driven? Do they want to grow? Etc etc etc...
Sure, a soldier may be eligible to go to a board, meeting TIS/TIG requirements, but it is up to you as their first line supervisor to ensure they will be able to compete, compete well and represent the NCO corps well. Being able to lead soldiers, complete the missin, whether they're cooks or infantry, is rather important.
Its like this: I'm currently putting my warrant packet in. One question that pops up is this: "Am I going to be a valuable asset to the medical command, public health command and the warrant officer corps?"
The same thought process should apply. Will they be an asset to the NCO Corp?
