Is it possible to baseline a SIPR computer back to a NIPR without destroying the HD? I've heard rumors of purging multiple times, but I need an AR.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I like Soldiers to research the issue on their own but the links are below. Also, I would suggest that you confer with your local IA and NEC rep to get those policies for your binder. I can tell you that any form of re-classification is an administration process. Read the regulations.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO.

You must completely format the harddrive several times if it was a SIPR machine- EVEN IF you NEVER saved anything on it. There are certain "identifiers" which make it classified. You can NOT just change the background and plug it into NIPR.

Check with your local NEC they can tell you local policy, backed by the regs WiseChief linked.

(I'm also a Signal Corps Chief Warrant Officer- and I had a really interesting FTX incident relating to this issue....)
