Was in the reserves as a 63B e5 and am in the IRR now. Got a call from a career counselor today, said he can get me a 37F slot out of a unit in Twinsburg Ohio. My question is do I have to get airborne and a language. Also do I have to take a pt test to reenlistment? I passed my last test but know I'm over the weight limit since I've started lifting weights. Do I have to pass height and weight or can they tape me? 49 inch chest with 36 waist I imagine ill pass a tape. Anyone from this unit here to express their feelings on the leadership there?

If your unit is airborne, you'll probably need to go to airborne school. I dont think they are but you'd have to call to verify. I'm not sure how reserves handle languages. For awhile, they were going to DLI. Then some went to SWC. Some dont go at all. Again, the unit can best answer this question.

Height and weights and easy question, as long as you pass tape, you should be good to go.

Sorry I cant help you with your last question.

Good luck. I'm sure you'll have fun. Its a pretty cool job, when you actually get a chance to do it.

The company in Twinsburg is not airborne, the company in Whitehall is. You also don't need to be language and airborne qualified to be a reservist 37F, only active duty.

IRR to TPU is a transfer. Since your last APFT was passing, you are eligible to transfer.

To reenlist, you need a passing APFT within 18 months.

Your last official weigh in is your official weigh in. There is no change in standards because you are in the IRR.

This is a ten level task
