I understand that even if I worked as signal for six years as enlisted, my commissioned branch after green to gold will not even take this into account for my branch selection?

I am under the same impression... and what kills me about this is that I am an MI guy with a clearance.... but getting the branch you want is all about competition I guess... and here's the kicker... the NG guys know what branch they are getting... since they are already filling that slot as SMP cadets....

This is true. I am currently doing ROTC on a G2G scholarship. I used to be a MP, but look forward to not being one when I get commissioned, haha..

About 40% of the order of merit list comes from your GPA, so if you do G2G study hard and hope for the best.
