I have a guy here in my unit who's been accepted for OCS....School date and all but now he's had a change of heart and has decided to go back to the civilian world...My question is, how do you go about rescinding acceptance into OCS? Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated....Thanks in advance

Was he an 09S or did he have another MOS before being accepted to OCS. The way I rescinded acceptance to OCS and went back to the civilian world was simply to submit a letter of intent to the commander of OCS (that and I was way over body fat standards in the 2 years between basic and my OCS date, this was national gaurd). I am guessing that rescinding acceptance to OCS is like resigning your commission, you can do so if you have permission from the commander.

The body fat thing wouldn't work for AD as you have to have a PT Card with body fat ht/wt etc on it. You can write a letter to DA or the OCS POC and request withdrawal from the program, but make sure he knows that if he does that and then changes his mind again he probably won't get accepted again
