I'm in the process of getting a direct commission (Reserves). I've passed the field board already, making an adjustment to my packet & then I believe it goes off to HRC in St. Louis.

I was wondering about BOLC. Is it at Ft Sill for phases 1 & 2? If what I was reading online was correct I believe it's only at Ft. Benning or Ft. Sill.

I have selected transportation as my branch. But I'm unsure where my branch school will be since trans merged into logistics. Is it still at Ft. Eustis?

Thanks for your help.

You can do BOLC II at Fort Sill. It is a residency course, and I have a few friends who are instructors over there.

The transportation school is currently still at Ft. Eustis. I just left there helping with yalls training earlier this month. I must ask you to be more professional than your peers! Most of them are worthless!

Worthless as in "I don't really care" or "I outrank you now"? If your experience was as you described than what would make me stand out above my peers?

Thanks for your help.

Its a mixture of both really. Most of them had the attitude of Im a LT now so I know everything, you cant teach me anything else now. They would try to tell us how to do our jobs and we were the ones conducting the training. I guess the best advice I can give is to go in there with an open mind to what your instructors and the other cadre are teaching you and just dont stop listening to someone because you think you already know something. You can learn something even from the lowest private. Basically Id have to say you are there to learn so allow yourself to be taught. Even when you get to your first unit Id suggest that you not go in there thinkin you know everything. Link up with the PSG of the platoon that youre in charge of and get him to teach you the ins and outs of what gos on and never do anything that goes against what he wants or says. Even though you "outrank" him he is a vital part to your success in that unit. Instead of having the mentallity of outranking him you should have the mentallity that yall are equals. For example, your PSG tells a private that he needs to go clean the latrine. Said private doesnt want to clean the latrine, so he/she jumps over the PSGs head and comes to you. He/she shouldnt be talking to you anyway unless you have given him/her an order that requires it or you talk to him/her first. So he/she whines and cries about cleaning the latrine. Instead of saying "I feel that you dont need to do that go do something else", smoke the living dog sh*t out of him/her right there on the spot and then make him/her clean the latrine. You and your enlisted counterparts MUST work together in order for you to be successful. I hope Ive been of some help to you.

Some people are also sent to Benning for BOLC.

Keep in mind, you'll be whatever kind of officer you make of it. The big thing to remember, is that you don't know anything more than you did the day before you commissioned. In addition to that, you're just a 2LT--the privates of the officer world. (If you were E-5 or higher before, you may even feel like you took a step backwards for a while.) Use that to keep yourself in check and realize that you have A LOT to learn. In a few years, when you become a commander, you'll have plenty of chances to throw your "officer" weight around.

Good luck.
