EngineerDaddy, As an engineer, you left out the ENGINEERS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Engineer units are getting deployed left and right - RA, NG, ER. My privates here, some KNOW they're deploying after graduation. The combat engineers are just about always gone. My fiance' (he prefers I say husband so I will) - my husband PCS'd to Germany in October. He spent Thanksgiving in Kuwait and the next week he was on his way to northern Iraq. He's a 12C (21C sounds soooooo wimpy, just like 21N doesn't have the same UMPH as 62N. Listen "Twenty-onnnnnne Charlie, Twenty-onnnnne B" as opposed to "Twelve Charlie, Twelve B") But anyway. The engineers are shipping out soldiers left and right. To build/rebuild, construct, patrol, sweep. We're big time because someone has to be qualified for booby traps. Even us heavy junkers get mine detection and booby trap lessons.
Just my two cents to start some $#!+  Engineers clear and build the way!!!!! Air Assault!!! Essayons!
-Who is going to train the privates? Not eveyone can be a drill sergeant.

Ha! I was in the S4 shop of a National Guard Air Defense unit from Florida. They sent all of us to Afghanistan as ILO MPs. We just went to train for the combat MP portion. We were still the same MOS but now we were doing the job of an MP in combat. When we got back we found out that our unit was now going to be changed to half MP and half Trans. I volunteered to go to Germany and went through AIT for MP with my unit and did CLE overseas for a year. My point is, while you are in the Army you will do what the Army wants. No MOS is safe from deployment because if they need bodies they will train you up and you will go.
