My husband was just home for R&R, I am still trying to recover No, he won't be coming home any time soon, but that would give me the opportunity to graduate quicker. He calls me every day, and we get to see each other online via webcams. I can't complain. I wish he were here of course, but that's his job and responsability, and I support him 110% in anyway I can.

My husband and I bought webcams, so while we talk, we can actually see each other. It would be like a video conference! We haven't tried it yet because they had a blackout for several days, and before that the Internet was not set up in his new room. I will let you know how it works in the next couple of days (I hope

I hope that you get to talk/see Tara over the Internet soon! Yahoo Messenger w/ Voice also works pretty good. I got to see my husband already (but we didn't talk, just chat, because the connection was not that great) and it's so cool. I got to see his room and the table he built. Sigh...

Hello everyone! I have read all the conversation of this link and would like to say that I understand where you all are coming from. I am in the Army myself as is my husband. I deployed to Afghanistan in Macrh 05 and returned in Mar 06. My husband deployed to Iraq in August 05 and will not be returning untill December 06. Out of the first 1 year and 5 months of our marriage, my husband will see eachother for 6 1/2 monthst total and that is not consecutive. I don't expect people to feel sorry because we knew what we were getting ourselvs into befor we got married. I just wanted to tell everyone here that I understand what everyone here is going through and I will always be here if anyone needs and or wants to chat. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all of your sacrifices and support. It really doeas mean alot to us. Take care and the best of luck to all of you and your loved ones (my brothers and sisters). SPC (P) Peterson
Hi SPC Peterson Thank you for the nice words. My husband and I have been together for over 8 years now, but married for 15 months. From these 15 months, we've spent about 6 months together before he deployed. I am sure that it is harder on you guys, especially when both of you are in the military, knowing how "flexible" (not) the Army is. At least I have the ability to re-arrange part of my schedule to fit my husband's. My husband is coming home around the same time as yours
Thank you so much for your sacrifice and dedication. Words are not enough to express how much I appreciate all that you guys and girls do! I know that men and women join the military for different reasons, but whatever the reason, one thing is for sure - it takes a lot of courage to make such commitment. HUGS!
