If you consume your life with these thoughts when your husband is gone, you'll be miserable back here waiting for him. What you'll need is a very good family network or become a big part of the Family Readiness Group (FRG) at your husband's unit.

Peggy, I am so glad both are home. Wishing a full recovery for Tara. My husband came home last week, I am so thankful that he is home safe. We are again separated, he is in Hood for briefings, and I am in Dallas finishing my semester. One more week to go!
Karen, I understand how you feel. When my husband joined, my first thought was "IRAQ", but the guys are right, obsessing with negative thoughts will not help you nor him. Also, he hasn't deployed yet, as Mark Twain said: "I have been through some terrible things in my life, some of which actually happened". Don't stress yourself with something that has not happened. If the day comes, and he has to deploy, a strong support system and staying busy are the two most important things to focus on while you spouse is deployed. Surrond yourself with good friends and family, enroll in school, do things that you enjoy and last but not least, support your man. The guys need all the support from home that they can get! It's what makes them through each day. Let me know if you have any questions. My husband just came home from a year long deployment. Take care!
