please help..

Question:
This is a complicated situation with lots of questions: I was a foster child; the family IS my family; my lil brother was severly injured in Iraq and is in TX now; mom quit her job and moved there...he has yrs there now; I am active Army; married to Active Army; currently in Germany; I am here, husbands in Iraq for 3rd time.Mom and I are trying to accomplish a legal adult adoption on me now.I want to submit for a compassionate reassignment, to help my mother and be there for my brother.I am just having a med-board started on me.Here are my questions:
can a compassionate reassignment be granted if I am being med-boarded? Before it is complete? If it is completed..and I am civilian again, can my husband be granted compassionate reassignment to TX also; and if so, will it pull him out of his deployment or will it be at it's completion(another 12 months)?
any help is great. Thank you and God Bless all.

Choices:
A comapassionate reassignment can be granted during a med-board.
A spouse of a compassionate reassignment grantee can also receive one.
A compassionate reassignment will pull a soldier out of a current deployment.

Wow, I deal with these from time to time. Your situation is a little "special". To be very honest what you are seeking is not easy to get reguardless of the situation. Based on your reasons I would say you have a good chance of being denied. Not what you wanted to hear. Basicly your "brother" is in good care and his mother is alive and capabable. There is not enough reason there and just wanting too because he is family is never enough. To answer the rest of what you said let's assume you can get one... no your husband could not leave deployment early. And as for the med board... you got me there, but I can make an educated guess and say that once you started that you can't stop it till it's finished and they deem you fit for duty or not.

Best of luck.
