So here's the deal. I've been telling my schools NCO for well over a month, maybe closer to two, that I need to switch my WLC class date to a later date because my wife was pregnant with our first child I needed a few weeks after delivery to help her get settled, etc.
I took leave when she went in to be induced under the impression it was taken care of. She had a C section and can't drive, push baby stroller, etc. for a month. I get back and today and I'm informed I'm still going. Tomorrow is the report date. What do I do?
My wife is still recovering from the surgery, she can't drive herself or the baby to the three plus doc visits this month. How do I get out of this ASAP?
yes, my first line supervisor an O3 chaplain (I'm a chaplains assistant 56M) S1 leader (who I fall under for PT) 1SG, and CO all know about it. The CO even intervened for me earlier to no avail. Schools NCO is under a lot of pressure from CSM though, because he hasn't sent anyone to WLC in like a year.
If your CSM is the proponent for sending folks to WLC, why don't you discuss your situation with him?
Nonetheless, when I went to WLC a year ago at Fort Campbell, KY, the commandant asked on day one if anyone had any family problems, etc, and offered to give them an administrative drop. He asked this because we had people on the stand-by list that needed to get into WLC. Perhaps you will get asked the same question at WLC.

Thanks to all for the input. I didn't have to go but the other guys from my unit that went weren't on "the list" and the schools NCO apparently said he forgot to check them on ATTRS.
Another question maybe for a different thread but, has anyone here been to WLC in Korea?
If you end up going to WLC, they will ask you if you have any pending isues, and you tell them whats going on and they should send you home. They dont want you there if you dont have a clear mind.

If you have addressed issues with your senior and it hasn't been resolved then it's your responsibility to utilize the open door policy on both sides of the line until the matter is resolved or the president himself tells you to give it up.
Hence, if the catalyst is a schools NCO who is not wanting to step on the sgm's toes, then it's your responsibility to utilize the open door policy with the sgm. When they tell you no, use it with his sgm. And if it's not being resolved, write your congressmen. I believe congressional inquiries need to be addressed within 24 hours.
You may feel like you don't have power, but state your case, and then tactfully and politely ensure it is heard by the correct people.
I am in Korea, and my unit sent me in March but I didnt get in (they put SPC non P over me, an E-5.) I just had a soldier get back from WLC about a week ago though... what would you like to know?
