This contest is called: Operation Revive old posts.
What are we giving away? Apple® iPod™ MP3 Player with 30GB* Hard Drive - White
During the month of December, we will be tracking the top 5 posters and the top 5 topic starters for the ArmyStudyGuide.com Community.
The top five posters and the top five topic starters will be added into a drawing for a FREE iPod. It is possible that one member could be included in both the top five posters and top five topic starters, thus giving that member two chances to win.
The odds vary based on the amount of different names in the lists for the top 5 posters and top 5 topic starters, but let me just say that if you do the math for any mixture of names, the odds are pretty good. For those that make at least one of the 2 lists mentioned above, the worst odds are 1 out of 10 (all 10 different names) and the best are 1 out of 5 (5 names made both lists).
Who is eligible? It is pretty simple. We will only ship the iPod to a valid United States Mailing address. This address must be able to receive a shipment from UPS, unless it is an APO address overseas, for which will send the package via United States Postal Service. If you don't have a valid U.S. Mailing address, you are not eligible to win. Oh, and of course you have to be a member to post.
What does ArmyStudyGuide.com get from the winner? The satisfaction of knowing that someone is sporting an iPod that was purchased by us, and of course a little added exposure for the ArmyStudyGuide.com Community. We do ask that once the iPod is successfully delivered, the winner take a digital photo with the iPod to post in the community for others to see.
How will the winner be chosen? We will use the old hat deal. Since it is very rare that any member of the ArmyStudyGuide.com Community ever has a chance to meet each other in person, we have formed no bond with anyone so special as to alter the outcome of our random drawing. In other words, the contest will be run fair and honest. 10 pieces of paper will be placed into a hat and each piece of paper will have one name on it. We will randomly choose the winner from those pieces of paper in the hat. We will probably post a video of the drawing for all to see…kind of like those state lottery shows, but a lot lower budget.
When will you know who the winner is? Around the 10th of January. We will post the winner in the message board. The winner must provide us with a valid U.S. mailing address within one week of posting on the message board and only by the email account they have listed in their profile. If a valid mailing address is not provided, a new winner will be chosen. The winner will also be contacted via the email address that they have listed in their account.
** This contest is strictly for the fun of the community. If someone is found to be posting bogus messages just trying to inflate their rankings, they will be disqualified.
** The iPod will be shipped UPS. You must be able to receive a package from UPS if you are chosen as the winner. If the mailing address is an APO address, we will ship via USPS. We will only ship via USPS for APO addresses.
** If at any time we feel that someone is abusing the community to try to artifically inflate their post and topic starting rankings, or if there is any other reason that we feel it would be in the best interest of ArmyStudyGuide.com and the community to stop the contest, we reserve the right to do so at any time with explanation..
What contest will be run next?
