When reenlisting can you get Kuwait as an OCONUS station of choice, or not? I know Option 4 states ..
a. Guarantees assignment to one of the following overseas areas of choice:
(1) Korea.
(2) Pacific area, long tour.
(3) Pacific area, short tour.
(4) Alaska.
(5) Caribbean area.
(6) Europe.
(7) Hawaii.
If not, can you specify a station in Europe?
Additionally, my ASK says I am an Intial Term Soldier ... I was in the USMC for 4 years, but was out for a few years. I just want to make sure I am an Initial Term Soldier as pertains to reenlisting
Yes, you can get Kuwait as a reenlistment OCONUS Station of Choice if a valid/open assignment is available for your MOS/rank.
No, you cannot (by contract) specify in the contract where in Europe you can go. You will, however, see the actual assignment (England, Belgiun, Italy, Germany, etc) you're going to prir to reenlisting; the specific location is not guaranteed on your contract.
You are a mid-career Soldier.
A "mid-career" is a Soldier on a second or subsequent period of active Federal military service who will have 10 or less years of active Federal military service on his or her separation date or at ETS.
I am a PFC in Active Army currently deployed in Iraq, I have heard a rumor that I can reenlist for duty station of choice without extending my current ETS. Is this true?
In order to reenlist, your new contracted ETS MUST be greater than your current ETS. Also, you must reenlist for a minimum of 3 years for a station of choice and you must be within your 24-month reenlistment window for this option. You can clearly see how the math works against your post.
