Good Morning! (it is here in Germany) I was putzing around online before work and thought I'd see if any of you fine folks could answer a question I have. As a 35M, I'm aware that I can be stationed just about anywhere... but I'd like to narrow that down a bit. I'm thinking of requesting to go to Florida for my re-up, and was wondering what units/posts/bases/organizations are "in the market" for a 35M? I'm just trying to figure out what my choices are so I can tell my re-up NCO what I want the paperwork to say before I'll sign. Thanks for the help!
MacDill AFB is a nice location in south Florida. This is a special/nominative assignment and this will need to be requested through the special assignment branch.
Other than that, Florida is not a state that houses alot of Army bases. Fort Stewart, GA is only about 2 hours from Jacksonville.
Hi, I am currently deployed to Afghanistan. I got a conditional release from the guard to active duty in SEP 07. They gave me 7 Mo TIS. That made ny BASD FEB 07. Which would put me at 17 Mo TIS. I want to reenlist for three more years, but I am being told I have to be in 17 Mo past SEP 07 and my BASD does not matter. I just wanted another opinion on this. Thanks!

In order for you to be eligible for a reenlistment bonus, you need to have at least 17 months continuous active service--continuous is the key word here. You do not HAVE to wait to reenlist if you are in your reenlistment window, but in order to receive a bonus, you need to wait until you have hit your 17 month mark.
