How is your PEBD wrong?

How long was your first period of service?
How long were you out?

If you are going to receive a bonus, it'll take three days.

If you are not receiving a bonus, it'll take about 10 minutes if your Career Counselor has all the documentation, i.e. DD Form 214s and any other prior service paperwork you have.

The Career Counselor will create a DD Form 1506 and if you are receiving a bonus, they will bring to S-1 for update in eMilpo.

If you are not receving a bonus, they will create the same DD Form 1506 and submit to the Division Retention Operations for immediate update of the PEBD (and probably BASD as well).

the first time i was in was 87-91 for about 3yrs and 11 mos. my inactive time ended in 94, for a period of 4yrs and some change. i came back in in apr 2002 for a period of 6 years. but when i came back in i guess my PEBD was not figured right and i just found out trying to reenlist. im currently in iraq at the present. im trying to find out how long it usually takes to correct the error of the PEBD. is a month too long? a new quarter is coming up and who knows if bonuses will change or not.

A month is way too long. Someone is sitting on your paperwork.

If you want, you can PM me your SSN and email address and I'll construct a 1506 and email it to you with FormFlow (packaged).

I have really enjoyed looking at all the questions, but the answer bothered me on this one. I am a Career Counselor in Iraq and am constantly battling finance and other counselors that are not here. I had a 1506 for a Soldier that took over a month to get fixed thru finance, but the Soldier reenlisted prior too and was paid correctly. It just takes forever for the paperwork to get done over here. The servicing counselor probably didn't understand just to get it changed in retain and execute the reenlstment. SFC Martin

Which answer in particular bothered you?

Why or maybe how are you constantly battling finance and other Career Counselors? Are you saying that the ones not deployed are hurting your program or giving erroneous advice?

With regards to the 1506 that took over a month to process, did you follow-up with it? Were you provided details of why it was taking so long? Did you talk to a S-1/finance supervisor to maybe get it pushed through quicker?

Thanks for joining the board and providing well-need feedback from the front lines. This board could use more Subject Matter Experts in the Retention Field.

Stay safe over there and keep taking care our those Soldiers!
