Currently Im a 94E. I reenlisted twice already, been in 6 years. Is it possible to reenlist to 68A, or put in a 4187?

94E is currently listed as a shortage MOS(Y/N) for grade E4; balanced(N/N) for grade E5. Current Retention Policy states that Mid-Career Soldiers serving in a balanced (N/N) or shortage (Y/N) MOS are eligible for the Regular Army, Current Station Stabilization, Overseas Area, and Conus Station of Choice Reenlistment Options. However, as an exception, Soldiers in a balanced MOS may request the Army Training Reenlistment Option through their servicing Career Counselor, but the Soldier can ONLY choose from a list of Priority MOS's. Your servicing Career Counselor has a listing of these MOS's. Keep in mind, you must be in your Reenlistment Window and be otherwise qualified. As far as submitting a 4187 requesting reclassification channels, again, the current strength of your MOS as well as the MOS you would like to train in, plays a part (i.e. - ballanced, shortage, overstrength) as do other prerequisites. Again, it is imperative that you sit down with your Career Counselor to fully understand what options are out therefor you.
