Because you are an initial term Soldier you qualify for
Option 3, Army Training Reenlistment Option. If you qualify for 11B (requirements below) and you select Option 3, you can pick up to four locations you'd like to go after training. However, these assignments are not guaranteed in your contract ... only the MOS will be.
Also, when selecting Option 3, you will not get an MOS bonus because you are not qualified in the MOS yet. If you are deployed to Irar, Afghanistan or Kuwait, you can reenlist for Option 3 and receive a deployment bonus.
Also, 11B is not currently offered through the
BEAR Program.
Infantrymen must possess the following qualifications--
(1) A physical demands rating of very heavy.
(2) A physical profile of 111221.
(3) Color discrimination of red/green.
(4) Correctable vision of 20/20 in one eye; 20/100 in other eye.
(5) Qualifying scores.
(a) A minimum score of 90 in aptitude area CO on Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) tests administered prior to 2 January 2002.
(b) A minimum score of 87 in aptitude area CO on ASVAB tests administered on and after 2 January 2002.
(6) Formal training (completion of MOS 11B course conducted under the auspices of the USA Infantry School) mandatory.
