I'm having a real problem with my career counselor . She has been picking and choosing who she will help. I have passed my PT and I am able to reenlist. The only thing is she telling me I probably will deploy with the unit and come back and be stationed in Ft.Gordon(my station of choice) I took it to the CSM and he told me as long as my orders come before September 1, he doesn't care if I do it. Now that we have an issue with each other, I know she is not going to help me out. I went to post retention they can't help me, I called branch they told me I have to be in my current station for 24 months unless I reenlist. I just want to get orders before its too late. What are my options??

If this is REALLY the case (not just a personal opinion and you can prove it), take this pu with her boss ... the unit CSM. He will square her away.

No it's a fact, I'm not the only one who has a problem with her. My NCO just reenlisted in May. She is getting orders to go to TX. We have the same MOS and have been in for 4 years. This is just one incident. I took it to the BN CSM and he was pretty much on her side. My ETS date is 03 2010. I don't even want a bonus. First she told me that the slots for Ft. Gordon are limited and if I reenlist down range I'm not garaunteed the same slot. Recently told me that my best bet was to reenlist down range.

So when you asked for Fort Gordon what were you told? Were you told that it's not available or something else?

Career Counselors cannot pick and choose who they reenlist ... that's why this is so hard to believe. We reenlist all eligible Soldiers that want to reenlist.

In April I asked for Ft. Gordon I was told that I could get Alaska, Hawaii, Ft. Eustis,Germany, Korea, places if I were not married I would go. I wanted either Ft. Gordon, or Ft. McPherson. It was clear I was not going to get Ft. McPherson. But she told me I could get Ft. Gordon but with no bonus. That's fine for 3 more years. She told me that the slots were limited and I would probably deploy with the unit and return to do my station of choice. If I was to wait and reenlist in Iraq I'm not garauteed the same slot but I would get a bonus. I gave up beacuse it was so hard to catch up with her and I was getting the run around. She finally told me that the Commander wants me off of temp profile or I have to be on temp profile for 90 days with a passed PT test. So I would have to wait until June to try again. May came around and one of my MY NCO'S reenlisted for 3 more years same MOS with orders for TX. She is on REAR-D.So not to hate but how is it that she will not deploy and I will have to??? As long as I can get orders to FT. Gordon before September 1(stop loss) I'm good. She lied to me when I brought it to her attention. So I went to the BN CSM about it and she made it seem like I didnt't know what she was talking about. ALL I WANT TO DO IS REENLIST FOR FT. GORDON AND LEAVE BEFORE WE DEPLOY. MY HUSBAND WILL HAVE SOME HELP WITH OUR SON IN GA. IF I DELPOY THERE. I know that there is a way for me to get some orders before September 1st. that's the whole problem. That's the whole story. So I might have burned a bridge with her, she can make it where I can get screwed over.

Have you deployed yet?

When did you pass your last APFT? Seems to me you are not qualified to reenlist by your profile statements above.

We are suppose to deploy at the end of this year Nov/Dec we have not received orders yet but we are training. i first got my profile in Jan. I took and APFT in March and passed. I am taking another on June 11th. My profile states I can take a APFT with an alternate event walking 2.5 miles, it will also be counted as a record APFT. I looked in the regulations about reenlisting on temp profile, and as long as I pass and am not flagged for anything. I am eligible. I just want help finding out my options for PCSing before September 1st.

I guess I should have asked the first question differently ... have you EVER deployed?

So you passed your last APFT March 2008? If so, you qualify for reenlistment (in that area). Being on profile is not a disqualifier for reenlistment.

You mentioned about that you were offered Alaska, Hawaii, Ft. Eustis,Germany, Korea ... how do you think you'll get Fort Gordon?

I have been deployed 2005-2006. I was stationed at Ft. Campbell at the time. I did pass my APFT in March but at that time it had not been 90 days. So that is why I have to take another one this month. My career counselor offered me all those places, but all I want is Ft. Gordon. She told me she can get it for me. I even called branch and I was told that there was no slots for 92A. If my CC can get it for me that is fine. It's just so much stress trying to reenlist. I just want orders before Sept 1. It is so complicating..reenlisting should not be this hard. Is there any hope??

So it seems you are not qualified to reenlist because your last record APF is greater than 9 months old.

If your branch said that there are no slots, I'd be very curious to know how your Career Counselor can get it for you. Confused

Reenlisting in today's Army is VERY EASY ... it's when Soldiers are not even qualified to reenlist and want something that was not offered it's get's a little drawn out.
