My husband reenlisted 18 March 2009, while on deployment, as an E-4 in A zone, (Get back to zones in a second). At this time, he was told that he would receive the appropriate bonus at that time for mos (62b) and rank ($4000). To this day, he has yet to receive one red cent of the bonus and we have been given the run around. He was never given a copy of his reenlistment contract, so when we went on his ako to the hrc to look for it and print it out....ITS NOT THERE. We has absolutely NO proof that he even reenlisted except for the fact that his EAS is now 2 years later than it was previously. What can we do? Is there anyway to fix this where he does receive his bonus? Or else is there a way to have his EAS reset to its original date, since there is no reenlistment contract? I have numbers for battalion and division retention....that's where I am starting. Anything else I should do?
Also, on the whole reenlistment zone thing...he was in the USMC for 5 years and 1 month, and then the USArmy for just over 11 months, doesn't this make him B zone? And if not, then how did he even reenlist after just 1 year?

Just got off of the phone with Battalion Retention, now they are saying that he was promised a bonus he wasn't supposed to have, so the Army is now deciding if they are obligated to give it to him. No one knows where the original copy of his reenlistment contract is, but it has to be somewhere because his new EAS is showing on his LES. They are hoping to have found the contract by the end of the week, but I'm not getting my hopes up....it's already been almost 7 months.
I know that at the beginning of the year there were supposed to be NO bonuses, but in Milper message 09-028, enhanced program, it states that for his rank and mos he should have received $4000 in A zone, $5000 in B zone. What's the deal?
There was no "keep track of" whenever he was told it was online, and he wasn't the only soldier, NO ONE was given their reenlistment paperwork. If you're not going to be productive, please post elsewhere. I'm looking for assistance, not ridicule.
I understand his point, AND I agree, but what's happened has happened, and I couldn't be there to be on his butt. He knew he should have had it but since no one got copies while they were there, neither did he. We checked his OMPF and it was not listed. The last enlistment/reenlistment paperwork listed on his OMPF was when he initially joined the Army in March of 2008. Also spoke with Battalion Retention, and they can't find his contract either. They say they should have found it by Friday, but I'm not holding my breath since it's been lost for almost 7 months.
If they can't find it, is there anyway to have his EAS reset to the previous date? He wants to make a career anyway, but decided to reenlist while deployed because we could use the extra monetary help. This is just ridiculous.
Armywife is right! If your response isn't informative to helping the situation, why bother posting?
To the OP: It is quite strange that a reup packet has gone missing. That's a complete failure of the career counselor. They are suppose to keep a copy of reenlistee packets for reasons like this.
I fell into a situation like this. I reupped and was suppose to get a bonus. Months went by and i didn't receive a cent. I constantly talked to my company reup nco, battalion career counselor, and brigade reup. I was assured I would get my bonus. I was saying that the contract was erroneous and voided. No one listened to me.
So a year after reenlisting and no bonus, finally, my battalion reup agreed with what i said about the contract being voided. Long , crazy, story short; i ended up reenlisting again and lost $3 thousand and added an extra year to what was suppose to my ETS date before the voided contract.
The only advice i have is to stay on his career counselors. From company level to as far as he needs to go to make things right.
