I went ahead and allowed myself to take the "Fat Boy" discharge from the 82nd way back in 1996. I had just completed over 4yrs of my 4yr17wk enlistment.

Got out used up my ACF and GI Bill bennies and earned a BA in Criminology.

I'm now 34 and would like to know what's available to me as far as reenlisting, reclassing (from 11B1P, though I had 655pts with out any civilian education points, and made the cutoff but got flagged a few days prior to getting flagged at a "pre-weigh-in for PLDC), and what if any possibility is there for OCS? Would I have to go back to the infantry or does my degree give me any edge for going MP or MP officer?

Also, what training would I be required to attend as I have been out since 1996 if I were able to get back in?

You'd either come in as a Specialist or go to OCS, then be commissioned.

Get with a local Recruiter to see what latest incentives are for Soldiers reentering service. If you've overcome your deficiency and meet the qualifications, there's a good chance you could go to 31B instead of 11B.
