I have a question for whoever can answer this. I am a 25B.. I have been trying to reenlist for station of choice and go to maryland. For about 7 months I have been pretty much bugging the crap out of our reup NCO to reenlist and he keeps telling me its not in EDAS. Why is it that when a soldier tells the Army that he wants to do another 6 years and this is his first reup that they cant just give him the assignment? If anyone has any advice or any advice on some good duty stations CONUS please let me know cause I am going crazy

If there are no valid/open slots in Maryland, how can the Army assign you there?

Have you ever thought about the White House Communication Agency? You can apply online.

How would the Army possibly have any Force Alignment if all Soldiers had to do was state where they'd like to go and they just got it? Fort Lee, Fort Gordon, and other TRADOC installations and units would be very fat and happy; but what about the BCT's and other TO&E units? I think it would be kind of hard to maintain a fighting force that way. I also think the goal of the Army Retention Program is to maintain Force Alignment consistent with Army needs--or something like that.
