I am a 25F currently deployed in Iraq. BASD 10Mar2004. Current ETS 23Oct2009. I am a first termer and was supposed to ETS 09Mar2008. I am wanting to get back into the Signal world, currently assigned to a Air Defense unit doing detainees operations. What types of options are available to me? I hear 25F are "phasing out" due to equipment changes, but I definately want to stay Signal. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also I have been recommended to go to the promotion board on the 30th of June. How will that affect my options?

SPCs receive a larger list of MOSs to choose from when reenlisting for Option 3, Army Training Reenlistment Option because there are a larger number of skill level one positions. The chances decrease for changing your MOS as you progress through the ranks. That being said, when you earn your (P), you'll see less MOSs.

There are a few signal MOSs to choose from, even at the SSG level. Check out the latest In/Out Calls for a list of MOSs with a "Y" in the IN column.

The good thing about reenlisting for Option 3, Army Training Reenlistment Option while deployed is that you'll receive a bonus. You get the same bonus while stateside.
