I re-enlisted while in Iraq in March. At that time we were unaware of when our stabilization window would be over so my orders are for January however our stabilization is over in november. My wife and kids are still near the post i re-enlisted for because i was there before and deployed as soon as i got to my current unit. i asked levy if there was anyway to move my orders up so i can be with my family sooner, they said since my orders do not say early report authorized i need to talk to my retention NCO or branch manager to get them amended to say that. so i talked to my retention NCO and asked if he could have them amended after a few days of waiting he said no he cannot have early release authorized amended to my orders because it was not in my contract. so i called branch and they said that my retention NCO can amend my orders and should. so i am confused on who is right and who is wrong? does anyone have any ideas that can help?
