my window will open in november this year, right now i am an e5 but i will be pinned on the 1st of this month. i will be in my bravo zone. i am wondering can i re-up for drill?

Drill Sergeant Reenlistment Program

(a) To be eligible for the program Soldiers must meet the following criteria:

(1) Must be in the reenlistment window and otherwise eligible to reenlist.

(2) Must be an Initial or Mid Career Soldier (Career Soldiers with Mid -Career Options are also eligible. All Initial and Mid Career Soldier are eligible to receive ASI/SQI/LANG training through Option 3. Career Counselors must check "yes" in the ASI/SQI/LANG block during option processing in RETAIN, select Option 3 and place the Soldier in a WAIT status.

(3) Must be a SGT or SSG (promotable SSGs are not eligible).

(4) Where regulations states a specific prerequisite is waiverable submit request with supporing documentation for waiver.

(b) Use the following steps to process Soldiers interested in Drill Sergeant duty:

(1) Ensure Soldier meets all prerequisites outlined in AR 614-200, paragraph 8-14.

(2) Have Soldier and his/her chain of command complete a commanders checklist. Checklist can be downloaded from https://www.hrc.army.mil/site/protect/active/epinf/drill_sergeant.htm
A copy of the checklist must be submitted to HRC.

(3) Have Soldier obtain a mental health evaluation from a competent mental health officer stating he/she has no record of emotional instability. A copy of the evaluation must be submitted to HRC.

(4) Have Soldier sign and date the following statement: "I understand once I reenlist for Drill Sergeant duty if I subsequently fail to meet the course prerequisites, to include obtaining a favorable background screening, or fail to graduate the course I will be assigned IAW the needs of the Army and will not have justification to submit a request for an unfulfilled reenlistment." A copy of the statement must be submitted to HRC.
