I have 12 Years of active Service and I just came down on orders for Assignemnt Conus to Conus I ETS oct 2010. My retention told me I must reup for the Assignement I called two other retention NCO's and one said I can extend for the assignement since my window isn't open yet and the third told me due to my report date being this DEC it will give me 22 Months left upon Arrival So I don't have to do anything. Who is right??? I need to know cause the next time I reinlist it is InDefinite.
Report date 10 DEC 2008
AEA Date 31 OCT 2008 (Stabilized Recruiter)
ETS Date 6 OCT 2010

And one more question with me having 12 years in Do I still quailfy for the Bear program I am a 63B my in out call is N/N?
I was told I if I want to do that I need to do it before my window opens this oct

Since you are over 10 years active service (and I'm assuming you are a SSG) you cannot extend and you must have 24-months remaining from your report date. You'll need to reenlist and if you are a SSG or above, you'll be reenlisting under the indefinite reenlistment program.

Also, you can only extend under the BEAR Program while you're in your reenlistment window. Also, you cannot extend under the BEAR Program while you're on assignment instructions.

Is there anyway around that
Especially since I was out here on recruiting orders and was sopposed to be out here for three years. My original AEA date (my three year mark) I would of had plenty of time to PCS but I was involuntary extended for 9 months which put me 2 months shy of the 24 month window (almost like they did that on purpose)
Right now I am feeling like a private whining but I feel the Army is really getting over on me this time. I really bust my tail out here on recruiting and Reinlisted for 6 years to come out here (My Last Retention NCO helped me decide to do that so I wouldn't be in the situation that I am in now having to sign up Indefinate going back into the regular Army coming of of Recruiting (I just wanted to try one more unit after recruiting and then Decide if I would go Indefand retire or not) Now I am in a situation where I must Reenlist indef and request my ETS or Retirement which I really didn't want to do. I wanted to leave recruiting go back to the Army for 2 years and ETS if I didn't like it anymore

No exceptions are being granted for SSGs over 10 years for reenlistment options.

Thats cool I am a soldier I can deal with it but if I don't reenlist I will get a declination and bar to reenlist correct?
And do you think it is too late for me to convert into a 79R since I am on orders?

Yes, you'll either sign a declination of continued service statement (DCSS) or have one placed on you after 45 days of being on AI. This will prevent you from reenlisting in the future.

I'm not sure how the conversion works with 79Rs, but USAREC can make anything happen.

Yes I know USAREC can make anything happen that is why I don't want to reenlist for indef with this much time left because there is a High Chance they will pull me back out here and convert me and I won't be able to do anything about it. I seen it happen to other recruiters who have only achieved thier gold badge. I have earned the Recruiter Ring and they keep extending me out here and now they finally release me but made sure I had to go Indef I think that this is foul. Hopefully they don't pull me back out here but I am pretty sure they will. I just wanted to go back to the Regular Army and finish out my Career. This is a perfect example of why should I strive to be a good recruiter when all it will do is hurt me in the long run. If I wouldn't of worked as hard as I did I would of left on time and wouldn't be where I am at now
