I have some questions? I am currently going to be medically discharged from the Army. I will either get severance pay or medically retired. Now my question is this, I am a SPC with 11yrs in and non promotable. Will the Army pay me to get out since I was not able to make my SGT by my RCP time? I was flagged for being over on my body fat percentage. But since I was put on a P3 profile for my injury in Iraq, how will it effect me now? Please advice or give information is anyone knows.

You'll either get medically retired OR severance pay, not both.
Although I don't agree with paying someone if they can't make rank, that's the way the Army s currently set up. Also, if you wanted the full RCP pay, you'll need to join the reserves for 3 years.
Wanna be even more sick? See how much you can get for full separation pay:
- Base Pay at time of discharge X (Multiplied by) - Total number of whole months of service X (Multiplied by) 10% - (Minus) 28% for federal taxes - (Minus) XX% for state taxes = (Equals) Your answer
Sounds to me that this soldier's leadership failed him. I have had many soldiers who have either failed an APFT or taped over that I was able to rehabilitate through remedial PT (two-a-days). It seems that many of you on these boards are like vultures, whenever you smell the slightest hint of weekness, you go in for the kill. I know that physical fitness is an individual responsibility, but it is the responsibility of that soldiers leadership to ensure that the soldier meets the standards. Besides that, the soldier should be entitled to a severance package after committing himself to 11 years of duty. That is 11 years towards a 20 year career. If you or your spouse (whoever is in the Army) were to get involuntarily discharged due to one issue of another, then you too would want some sort of financial compensation. Just think about it....
I did the math on it and according to that. I would make over $400, 000 dollars. I don't know how much retirement pay is but I don't think I will ever make that much in 1 sitting.
Ok...everyone is not understanding my question. First of all, I am being med boarded out for an injury that happened in Iraq. I know that I will either get severance pay or medically retired cause I have been medically discharged once before in 2003. Now, my question is this. I have 11yrs in, I am an E4/SPC non promotable. Reason being is that I was not able to make my body fat percentage by 2%. I am still working on that issue. But with my profile right now I am only allowed to do so much. I AM NOT A QUITER AND AM NOT TRYING TO PASS ONE OVER ON THE US ARMY. I have served for 11yrs and was going to make it a carrer out of the Army. Unfortunately I had an accident that does not allow me to use my legs right now. I have to use crutches. My Chain of Command was helping me out with my weight problem, and I was making progress. Now, with my 11yrs in will I still be able to get RCP with my medical discharge or just get severance/medical retirement? I hope ya'll understand me now. Please people, I love this Army of ours, I wouldn't take anything that was not offered to me. This RCP pay was told to me by one of my NCOs. He told me to look into it. That is all I am doing. Thank you all for your input.

You'll only get the medical/retirement and not the RCP severance pay.
So although you cant get both wouldn't it be one or the other? Either way the soldier is not choosing to leave the military. So he would either hit RCP (pay) or get Enlisted Involuntary Separation Pay!
