I am indecisive about what I should do, maybe someone out there can give me some guidance. I am in my window to reup, this enlistment will I will go indef. I am a SSG(P) and my job requires a secret clearance. My investigation for the renewal of my clearance is currently underway and I dont know how long it will take to go through. Earlier in my career I went through a nasty divorce which ultimatly left me filing for bankruptcy. I know this looks bad when being investigated for clearance purposes. I am unsure if I should reenlist now and hope for the best or hold out until the completion of the investigation. Any knowledge or suggestions would be great.

Do you currently have an active clearance?

Yes, my clearance is still active, it is just under review because I have had it for 10 years.

Unless you are not saying everything, you should not have a problem renewing your clearance. When processing clearances, we understand that everyone has different issues that they face and as long as there is not a pattern of bad financial status on multiple items then I would not see an issue.

ALSO, WHEN YOU GET RE-INTERVIEWED, DO NOT LIE, TELL EVERYTHING AND THERE WILL BE NO ISSUES!
