Hi, I was wondering if someone can help me out.Are there any types of waivers for reenlistment purposes, mainly for PT.I'm in Iraq, and hurt my foot taking a record APFT, and now I'm on a temporary profile and need surgery when I get back home.I'm in my window to re-up here, but the retention person keeps hounding me to retake the PT test and run on a bad foot, but how can I on a profile. I know there's almost a waiver for just about anything, but is there one for this?

When did you last take the APFT for record? Did you pass?

In the reserves this by itself would in no way keep you from reenlisting. I can't speak for the RA.

This is a ten level task

I took one in February, but it was not posted to my ERB, and it's somewhere at rear detachment at fort lewis. I just got to to unit before deploying, and things were not updated properly. They may not even be able to find my pt card let alone send it here.

If you go to armyreenlistment.com you can find the answer. Once there click on Career Counselor's Page, then click on Deployed? (3rd down on left). Your answer is there complete with references for you and your retention NCO.

It's not required while deployed in support of OIF and OEF.

An APFT is required for Soldiers any other location, i.e. CONUS, Europe, Korea, etc ....
