What are the circumstances surrounding this involuntary extension? Please provide a little more information and we can provide a better answer.

From what I understand it has to do with the Mission. He is a 35W and works the ARL mission

Not sure if stop move can be in place for non-deploying Soldiers, but if this happens, let your Career Counselor know so that they may have your report date changed.

I'm in Korea now and haven't heard of this happening to anyone. What do you mean when you say he extended his service from 1 to 2 years? You mean he volunteered for AIP (Army Incentive Program)? Because, yes, that would then turn his 1 year tour into a 2 year tour, with an extra $300 a month.

Are you saying they turned it into a 3 year tour? That would usually only happen if he was able to get command sponorship for his dependents to come over to Korea, which would add 1 year onto his already existing 2 year commitment.

Let me know if I'm way off here on understanding the situation...

Out of trainin in 03 my first stop was Korea. I signed for aip but then got deployed to iraq. They still paid the 300 a month to us that signed for it though. I was amazed they kept there word on that.

Yes he did the AIP but that is do to end DEC 08. They are saying they will extend him thru Jul 09. He reenlisted to go to Fort Meade with a report date of Jan 09. I thought you cannot not break a reenlistment contract?
