I re-enlisted for a duty station while in Iraq. I was given a report date and shortly after that I went on R&R. During R&R I had an accident which prevented me from going back to Iraq. My unit is scheduled to come home very soon, however, I am already on rear-d. I submitted a 4187 for an early report date and it was approved and sent up. My new report date is about two months from now. So here is my question. On my ERB and on ASK my AEA code is "N" which means "deployment stabilization". Will I be able to PCS if that code is there?? HRC adjusted my date so i figured it wouldnt be a problem, but I cant get anyone at Levy to give me a straight answer because the orders havent updated in their systems yet. Can anyone give me a fairly concrete answer? thanks.
you can get it lifted through S1...I think. I know when we came back from Iraq alot of people had theirs lifted and if Im not mistaken it was S1 and Commander approval was needed. I dont think you will need a letter of acceptance because you have orders but might want to double check on that as well.

A 4187 through your S-1 can get the stabilization lifted, but you need to check with your servicing Career Counselor if your report date was actually changed. A 4187 through your Command may have been approved and sent to HRC, but early report or deferments to report dates for retention assignments need to be processed through your local retention office. This may be why the date has not updated at the levy section, when a report date is updated somewhere either through HRC or retention; it reflects in every system the next day, so get with your local retention office and have them check.
