My company is disbanning and most everyone is going to Ft. Polk. I am in my first term and have 21 months left in the army. I have no orders, yet. I would imagine that when I do come down on orders they will be to Fort Polk, La. But being that I am out side my 2 year pcs window, I would have to re - enlist to go to Polk. Correct? And since theres not a chance in hell that Im gonna re - enlist then I have to sign a Dec. Statement or DCSS? My question is what happens If I dont sign the statement? What are the odds of me going to KOREA or KUWAIT if I do sign the DCSS? And what would it take for me to go to Polk anyway and fininsh out the remainder of my military career there? Dosnt HRC have to waive the 2year pcs time, in order to pcs with less than 2 years.
Initial term Soldiers cannot sign a DCSS, if you come on assignment for a short tour like Korea; you have enough time to fulfill a short tour, if you have less than six months left from end of tour to ETS your tour will be extended to your ETS. If you have more than six months, you will PCS back to the States until ETS.
