I reenlisted last january under the impression that I reenlisted PDA (permanent duty assignment) for 1 year. I looked at my ERB and saw my code was U/200907 U means Enlistment Commitment according to an earlier post, so my questions are:
1) Would me re-enlisting for PDA be considered "Enlistment Commitment"

2) I want to move to another unit, if the U is my "PDA" that I asked for, can I request to have it dropped?

3) If this is not my "PDA" what is it?

Thanks in advance

hello all i had a question i am hoping you all can help with. My husband has a AEA code of O( operational deletion/reset stabilization) and a YMAEAT date of 2009/03, however according to ASK he has been classified as in a FENCED unit(this FENCED unit thing just appeared within the last week) we are trying to get PCS orders out of here as 1) he had orders to be placed with CID and ended up in an infantry unit 2) the "crap" that has been pulled with promotion and mainly we hate it here. Does anyone know if we have a way ot get our orders to a new post, also we got her to this post from germany 27 Feb, 07 and he deployed on 18 June 07(returned from deloyment 31 Oct.07) and at this time the soonest his unit is due for re-deployment is late 2009 early 2010. (remor is stoploss will hit the unit Septemberish) Thank You all in advance for any informationa nd help.

There no such thing as "permanent duty assignment" ... it's called Option 2, Current Stabilization and it's from 12-months from the date of reenlistment.

The "U" AEA code is correct ... it's an enlistment committment (reenlistment actually).

If you do not want to be stabilized under your reenlistment option, you can see your Career Counselor have have this stabilization waived. As soon as HRC approves this, you will be assigned in accordance with the needs of the Army.

this was a reenlistment station, and we had it in the contract that there was a min. stabilization of 12 months from date of arrival. The O code i have found is Operational deletion/reset stabilization. But what gets me is according to his ERB and ASK the AEA/DT is O/200903. Does this mean we can get orders to a new base? And also i dont get this FENCED unit as his ERB states he is not FENCED?????? StopLoss is not inaffect for his unit at this time either.

armykitten01, I was actually responding to the previous post by DrFrrice. Sorry for the confusion.

In order to leave Fort Drum (I'm assuming that's where you are), he'll need to talk with his assignment manager. Without reenlisting for an assignment, it'll be pretty tough to get another assignment with only a year on station.

oh ok sorry. The thing is on his ERB it states that we have a AEA/DT of O/200903. And as fsr as reenlistment he is not eliable till 2010. He has called his branch manager and we are waiting for a call back, however if what we have found is correct with the AEA/DT we can request and/or reseave orders as of march of 2009. Thank you for any information and help woth understanding this better you can give in advance.P.S. also we have been here at Drum since Febuary of 2007, so we have been here 2 years.

Okay, so why would my AEA code show L when I leave for AIT (BEAR program) in 41 days? Shouldn't it show M?

Quick question. Ive been in germany for the last 3 weeks, still inprocessing, and my AEA code has an L, and looking at the codes, it states that I am eligable for pcs reassignment. So, can I reenlist or volunteer and go somewhere else instead?

Greetings all!
Question: Two parts

1) Who makes these AEA Code changes on EMILPO?

2) If BDE (because I know it's not an BN S1 function) Does anyone know who in particular I need to link up with IOT get my AEA Code changed?

I have an AEA Code "A" (A PERMANENTLY INELIGIBLE FOR FUTURE ASSIGNMENT) and I'm trying to PCS elsewhere.

Thank you all.

Good morning everyone. I am currently stationed in Germany and clearing to report to 3CR at Hood in 2 weeks. I have an ETS of 25 May 2013. I am trying to reclass under the BEAR Program to 35P, but can't do so until I report to Hood on 16 April 2012. I'm looking at my AEA Code and I don't have one. Is that bad? I'm told by the retention NCO at Hood that I'm good as I have a DLAB of 102 and I'm within my window and SSG is accepted into the BEAR under MOS 35P. Do I need to do anything about my AEA Code and if so, whom do I need to speak with about changing it? Thanks so much for your time.
