I am scheduled to attend BNCOC phase 2 for 35M in January, but I haven't attended phase 1 yet. I am a recent reclass and just arrived at my unit. It looks like I won't be able to get a slot to attend phase 1 before I am scheduled to attend phase 2. Is it possible to attend phase 2 before I attend phase 1?
The reason I ask is because another NCO told me that he had some NCOs in his BNCOC phase 1 class that had attended phase 2 first. It sounded a little strange, but I figured it may because of the deployments.

BNCOC Phase 1 is not required to attend BNCOC Phase 2. I believe there maybe a time frame in which you must attend Phase 1 after attending Phase 2, but I am not completely sure if that is still a rule or reg.

One of the new guys in my section basically just came here after attending Phase 2. He's now awaiting a class date for Phase 1.

yes it is possible to take PH II before PH I. a few reasons why are:

-there may be no slots for PH I at the time of PH II dates
-your MOS (deploying all the time)
-due to the BNCOC Order of Merit List

When I was a Schools NCO these were a few reasons and a few things we looked at, at the BN & BDE level.

It is better to take PH II. It was very hard to get slots for PH II. You can even get with your Training NCO and/or BN Schools NCO and send an ATRRS Request for the next available date.
