| I'm currently doing the DL portion of ALC, but I didn't realize I had a class date until I happened to check my AKO email. My training NCO put in the 4187 for me to get a class date but several weeks went by before I got the email telling me I had a class date, and it was almost 6 weeks after gettting that email that my class actually started. Between you and I, it's cake, if you can read and write, you can knock out the DL portion is no time, lol. As far as you original question as to whether you can be sent to ALC as a non-promotable E-5, I don't know. I have always been under the impression you had to be promotable, but the Army is ever changing (especially with this swell SMA we've got) so what is right today, maybe wrong tomorrow. |

| I'm pretty sure you don't have to be promotable to do Phase II of ALC. I'm not promotable yet and I have a class date. As for prereqs for it, go to ATTRS and try to see if you can find the ALC course for your MOS. To get enrolled in the DL portion I just emailed my branch manager to get enrolled. Not sure if that was the right way to get it, but thats what I was told to do my my chain of command so thats what I did. Good luck.
Trust me, I'm a Recruiter!
