Lol you guys are reminding me of the Hotel by MEPS. Lol, we all went to this stripclub, and drank. I only drank a sip, where as most people drank a ton. Somehow we all passed the breathalyzer :O
We went into New Orleans meps the next morning, and the guy giving the test was like, "Apparantly there is a Gentlemans club near the hotel. And once, recruits actually went to it. And got drunk. They all failed the breathalyzer."
We were all rofling and lolling and such, and we were like "We wouldnt know ANYTHING about that!" lol.
Yeah I know what they mean, it's just that you added "ing" on the end. So then it just looked like you were spelling stuff wrong. I didn't even think about those acronyms. Haha, my bad.

Go to MEPS, and ready to ship out "cut" up enuf so your no where even close, regardless of who tapes you!!!!That's what I would do if I were you, and not going till September.
Also, have your recruiter give you a pre-tape test. Or even a freind. It's pretty easy to compute the body fat. Just google it "army tape test calculator"
The navel line is "usually" the widest area on most soldiers....and if you have "love handles...they will be part of that navel line area you are gonna be taped at....so if you were taped below or above that...i would think it would actually HELP. Measure yourself weekly.....
But you don't go back to meps till SEPT right? By then you will have a 6 pack....so no need to even worry...right?

dont go there telling someone or "sounding" like your telling someone their job....just be very safe on that.
Id go in there...ripped up...cut up...to the point it does not even MATTER where they put that tape!!! Get a head start on basic, and kick ***. It's not even an issue then!
If you bring the reg, i would ONLY bring it up...if it NEEDS to be. Tactfully explain it to your LIASON at meps, and even have/ask your recruitor to TAPE you the day OF or the DAY prior.
But agian...if you dont go to MEPS till SEPT..and you were VERY close this past time....it wont even be a topic of concern...b/c you will be ripped then.

I don't think it's in MEP's best interest to fail you. I think you should let someone know if you feel you are being taped wrong. You really need to push yourself hard to score higher on the PT test. Aim for at least 70 points in each activity. It will help you a lot later. I score close to 290 but my tape is within 2% of failing. I can't help that. I got some gut cause I'm old as hell and my neck is just not that big anymore. But I continue to push myself and I pass everytime. Prep-H could help you but do the work and get stronger and leaner. You will need it later. Trust me!
Bring it on!

well i just got back from meps today i had my recruiter and a friend tap me numorous times this week and they all came out the same 17 around the neck and 41 around the abdoman and i know that is right at 26% bf according to the calculator and wen i got to meps they taped me at 16.5 around the neck and he said to the guy writing the measurments 41 abdoman but wen i seen how he put the tap on me and was kinda diagonal across my stomach and didnt even touch my naval and when i got the paperwork it said 16.5 neck and 42 abdoman ad 29% bf. i talked to the counseler on the second floor and all he could say was those guys have been taping for years and they are doing it right so is there anyone else i can talk to b/c i have taken and failed the arms test twice due to passing out that arms test is brutal could someone please get back to me on this?
Here are some tips that helped me: 1) Do lots and lots of crunches and situps. 2) Run. ALOT! 3) Change your diet. See your doctor or a nutritionest if you must. 4) Stop drinking caffeine. If your addicted to it, like I was, then cut back on it at first. 5) Go to the sauna everyday. Losing water weight will help you get below the taping weight. That's what I'm doing now.
If you have to, ask your recruiter to do PT with you. Motivation from a SSG or SFC recruiter who wants you to enlist is helpful. Trust me.
