I am voluntarily reclassing into a MOS that will require me to drop my "P". Does anyone know how to do this? Is this done on a 4187? The reg states a process for being removed off the recommended list, but thats due to something adverse happening.
How do I forfeit my promotable stutus to become eligible for the new MOS?
The reg also states that after I am awarded the new MOS, on the 1st day of the second month I will be promotable again. Does this mean I wont have to attend a promotion board as my old points will once again become active?
Thanks in advance...
Taylor

I am in a situation where they are taking mine. But my problem is I have a physical problem that doesn't allow me to run the 2 miles in my alloted time. So I am flagged for PT failure and they are taking it away. I am working with the docs to get help on this problem and hopefully a cure but unless I can somehow get a walk on the PT test profile for this upcoming one they are going to take mine if they haven't already. I have a problem where I can't process air thru my lungs on runs for some reason and end up not being able to breath. On Monday I had somekind of stroke. My tounge fell back and my right side fell weak. But They are still taking my P anyway.
But thats just my spill not jacking your thread. I belive a 4187 can be submitted to take your P status but usually for derogatory action. But in your case it could be career advancement.
