I was wondering who I needed to talk to first about reclassing. I have been told to just put in a 4187, but others say I have to talk to the reenlistment NCO. I am totally cornfused.

You'll need to see your Career Counselor and the will pre-qualify you for the MOS you're looking for. If you qualify and the preliminary MOS strengths makes sense, your Career Counselor will submit the DA For 4187 for signature.

Since you are a mid-career Soldier, you will not be offered Option 3, Army Training Reenlistment Option when you enter your reenlistment window in November.

What is your rank?

You can probably get an option exception for Option 3 (depending on the FY09 retention policy) when your 24-month reenlistment window opens in November.
