I got everyone here telling me that 21P's deploy constantly, are they just feeding me a line of crap because they are just jellous that im going to go to a school that requires brains? If so does a 21P get deployed attached to a unit? 12months, 15months 6 months? Now i know that you can go to the 3 main posts after graduation but can you request say fort lewis? Also it says to take all your leave before you get to the school, are you not allowed leave for christmas or mid year?

I have also contacted everyone i need to get the ball rolling, and am just awaiting info on the BMST being procterd here on my fob thanks guys!!!!!

21P's deploy alot, but the tours are not as long. Most of the focus now is on the war, and combat deployments are 6 months. We also do disaster relief, so say a major hurricane hits, you could go for anywhere from 3 days to 3 months. We for the most part are not attached to units; we operate independently.

I'm afraid Ft Lewis isn't an option. Those are the only three posts with Prime Power detachments.

You can take approx 15-20 days of leave during DEC/JAN for the holidays if you wish, depending on the school's schedule. Besides that, you can't really miss anytime unless its an emergency. In fact you could face a Student Evaluation Board if you miss more than eight hours of class time. It's because the schedule is so tight, especially in academics, that missing anything could really throw you off.

Who isn't deploying right now? We rotate the deployments between 3 companies. Each company A B or C will take Iraq for a year. During that year we deploy about half of the company at a time. So if you deploy it will be for 7 months (not 6), and then should not deploy for another 2 years. What other organization can tell you that? Do not be troubled by the deployments. Personally I would rather deploy as Prime Power (our power is never down). Our BN REALLY takes care of us over there. We have a specific mission and are in great demand and highly respected as professionals. You don't just sit around for 7 months and we are not kicking doors in or pulling patrols or convoying from place to place. Don't worry about deploying. You are in the Army. Your mission is still to fight and win the Nations wars. If you want a job that garuntees no deplyments than I suggest you get out.
