If i were to reclass... i am looking for something that will actually give me skills for if i eventually get out. Yall probably have a much better idea of that than me... would 25S, or 25B help me out more? Anyone have more info than i do on these MOSs? Cause neither the retention guy here or I know tons about either (Not saying he sucks, he just doesn't know about those too much.) Oh, and ( i know this is vague-ish) does anyone know of an MOS that will give me very good training for the civilian world that has a long AIT? Like long enough to be considered a PCS? Thanks again.

Ever thought of learning a language? That will be approximately 62 weeks (depending on which language) of language training in beautiful Monterey, California. Plus, as a 98G, you will hold a TS/SCI clearance (assuming you can hold one). I won't go into details about how much a TS/SCI clearance is needed in the civilian world, but it is worth about 6 figures starting. About 98G

Look into 21P Prime Power Production. Great job and great training. Civilian counterparts can make up to 70,000+ a year. Its a year long school (not an AIT), so it is a PCS. I am currently in the course right now and I love it.
Have you every considered the AMEDD? Most of the MOS' are long, and would be a PCS move for you, not to mention provide you with skills to fall back on a decent job when you leave the service. Try this link, and hurry up back to the states!
... If you like being Infantry and want to be "Infantry with marketable skills", I'd recommend looking into Military Police. There are all sorts of opportunities that can give you a step up in the civilian sector. Special Reaction Team, K9, Traffic Personal Security, MPI... not to mention that Military Police is the best place to use as a jumping off point to CID, which in turn can get you to careers in the CIA and FBI.
25S is a pretty descent MOS, the AIT is 6 months like depending if you go Strategic or Tactical. Tactical is really easy. Since you are prior service you will have a different barracks right next to the schoolhouse unless they have moved it. as far as deployability, you will be attached to a signal unit, I have never seen a 25S attached to an infantry unit yet.My buddy is in iraq right now attach to a signal unit out of Kuwait. There is air conditioning inside the shelters. 25B on the other hand can be attached to any unit. in my experience, 25B are more "deployable" than sierras (25S). pretty similar AIT both were long, like 6 months, mine personally was 7.5 Months. New systems came out. if you reclass you will probably be sent to Korea, 304th to be exact. its not a hooah MOS, you will very rarely hookup the system and transmit. Strategic is always on so to speak. Myself, I am a tactical 25S, we don't play everyday. Strategic training is 3-4 weeks longer than Tactical. hope that helps.
