I jsut re-uped in the Reserves for 6 years while in country. The retention NCO said since I re-uped in country it is not a MOS specific bonus. I would like to reclass to a 38B (Civil Affairs) unit back at home in Michigan. Anyone know what the reuirements are to complete this?

I'm not a subject matter expert on reserve/national guard retention, but I'll have an answer when I make contact with someone tomorrow.

ArmyReenlistment, the guys I talked to from USAR didn't seem to know anything about it. They said USAR woudl recoup my bonus if I reclassed. Not true since my bonus is Theater specific (non-mos specific). I'm basically looking for information to contact a couple units near my house.

A lot of room for promotion in that MOS and unit.

Get with your local career counselor and do a 4651 requesting transfer.
