I'm not sure if this is the right place but maybe someone here knows. I ETSd from the Army in june of last year. When I got out I was a SGT in MOS 11b. I have spent the last year going to college, and decided that I may want to return to active duty. I do not want to keep my MOS, and am primarily interested in 35M. I looked at the in-out calls and saw it was understrength at E5, but so is 11b. I talked to a recruiter, but they can't tell me for sure if it is available to me until I physical at MEPS, which I agreed to do this week. Is it probable that this option for training will be available to me, or will they tell me I can only enlist as an 11b? Is my recruiter just taking me for a ride?
Thanks for the quick response. Yeah my recruiter told me they would come down with a list of all the MOSs. I meet all the quals otherwise (asvab, have sec. clearance), I just didn't know how it worked from the prior service angle. I'm in no rush to get back in so I wouldn't mind waiting a few months. I just wasn't sure of the possibility of 35m because about a month back you told someone they were only taking SGT(P) or SSG for reenlistment reclassers.

You are really a "reenlistment", but a prior service enlistment.
If the current qualifications are SGT(P), than you'll need to pick another MOS if you don't qualify.
