I just got my 4187 signed by my CO and the 4187-R signed by my BC, turned in to my Career Counselor. How long will it take to get approved or disapproved? AR thanks for this site, I like it alot.

You'll normally get a response back within 30 days; if you've submitted all necessary documentation and meet all the basic qualifications for the requested MOS.

As for the site, it's not mine, but another Soldier looking out for any Soldiers. (I just have alot of fun providing accurate professional guidance to as many Soldiers as humanly possible)

I had the same question my request has been in for 2 weeks. I am going from a overstrength(52D20) to under(94D20). I meet all the quals for the MOS. I spoke to Ms Galligan at Reclass Branch when I submitted request to go 25B(DENIED) she said once she gets them to her desk 2-10 days. I assume this is because she has to obtain school seats and look for follow on assignments. I hate to assume but that makes sense. It's hard to get ahold of our higher (8th Army) Career Counselor, she is very busy.

Update!! I have been patient and finally, on the third MOS Request I have been approved for my Reclass. I guess third time is a charm. I tried 25B was denied because it is balanced, 94D understrengthed but no school dates, and Finally I requested 25P which after a long wait, and on the last day before my Reup window opened, I was approved and have a confirmed School date. Now I just have to try to get an assignment somewhere so my wife doesn't divorce me or make me go by myself (we are expecting our first Grandbaby). Am trying for Stewart or Gordon. Hopefully I can get lucky. Wanted to thank you ArmyReenlistment, I have learned alot by viewing alot of your posts in these forums. You seem to really care about what you do and making Soldiers aware of alot of really good information.
