Im am currently a 44C looking to reclass to 88N. I feel finance is a dead end mos with the points already high and DIMHRS coming out. I would like to get some info from some other 88N's on what to expect. I am an E4(P), and already have enough points for the cut off for 88N. Also how hard would it be to get stationed in Kuwaitt?

Are you an initial term Soldier?

It's YOUR career! Take control of it before someone else does.

well I've talked to alot of people already trying to figure out what 88N do everyday. I just reclassed to it and so far I've been told there are lots of different things we can do. I've been told I could work at a port. I know that in 3ACR we have one authorized 88n and all she does is hammer out the movement(like flights for us and the timeline and how and who will be moving the equipment) other then that she sits at regiment doing nothing as far as she says lol. Anyways I know alot of 88n stay in ft eustis upon completing school. I'm trying for Ft hood because my son is in EFMP and the hospital has everything for him. I know if your in an actual transportation battalion you can be expected to be setting up routes for convoys, I've also been told that we can work in airports controlling the movement of baggages, and at the railheads. So there is alot of different things we can do, it just depends on who your unit is and where you are stationed. I hope that helps a little, I know I'm still looking for information basically on what positions are open at Ft Hood, I've done a TDY and Return and once the EFMP becomes effective, I'm sure I'll be stationed there. I actually curious on whether or not III corp has any opening.

I'm an 88N with 6 years in, all try answer any questions anyone has.

Army Father about has it with what we do. I'll add a little more. I'm surprised 3ACR only has one. Stryker Brigades have 4. Just about every BCT in the Army will have a few. As an 88N, you'll work in a Bde or higher staff, or in a transportation unit. Some of these are SDDC units, and some are Forscom TOE units. Ranger Bns and SF Groups also have 88N.

I just finished a lifecycle with 4-2ID, and spent much of the time in garrison coordinating with the state to move the Strykers on the highways.

In my opinion the best job for a junior 88N is in Movement Control Team. They are small detachments of only 88N and a lot of fun to work in, especially if it's a port MCT.
Don't know about Kuwait. There's an 88N20 slot in Egypt you ask for.

Yes I am an initial term soldier. Who can see the next class date for 88N? I was looking for a class date in November if possible. Im a little nervous about going into an mos as a SGT. I dont want the other soldiers to look down on me for not knowing my job.
