So basically I'm wondering what this audition consists of. I've read all the info on the DINFOS site but it doesnt have what im looking for.

Im looking for someone that has done the tape and has successfully gotten into the school, someone that has knowledge on "how to pass it" if it is even possible.

fyi, I have very good english speaking skills, I carry no accents whether it be from a foreign language or where I've lived in the states. ya really.

I have to do this audition in order to reclass (opt 3) so any insight would be appreciated, thanx in advance!

I am an instructor at DINFOS, though not in the broadcast department, and have sat in on the audition tapes. I believe there are three sections, a scripted that you practice, a scripted you have to do a dry reading and speaking on the fly for 30-60 seconds I think. From talking to the instructors over there this is what I have gotten, they are looking for no accents, speech impediments and weird speech patterns. The best practice, they said, was to read everything out loud. I practiced by reading road signs to my daughter while I drove.

You may have your retention person call DINFOS, you may not need the audition now. The course was redone recently where all Army may not need voice training since only about 10% of them go to broadcast centers. I could check on it Monday.

Thanx for the sexy info SSG V!

I'll have a chat with my career counselor and see if he can call dinfos and see what the deal is with the tape. Although I don't mind doing the tape, not doing it would make the reclass process faster.

They recently let our career counselors see school dates, but won't slot us for some reason. He's making "retain" packets so when the slots are availble it'll be done.
