I am currently an E-5 on the automatic promotion list for E-6, given 450 points. I attend AIT in January as a 35F. I read in AR 600-8-19 pa 3-24 about being promoted conditionally before graduation. My question is- is it possible for me to be promoted on the first day of the second month while in AIT? The points for my new mos have been 450 points for as long as I can remember, and that's what I currently have being on the Automatic Promotion List Integration.
It wouldn't matter if you did make the 450 cut off in the second month, because you don't get to use the 35F points until you have been given that MOS (which means after you graduate from AIT). Your first MOS is still your primary MOS until you grad.
