13F is an awesome MOS to have. I was once a 13F until med-boarded for asthma. I'd go back if they'd let me. You are trained to call for fire with artillery, mortar, CAS (close air support), and some learn naval gun. I was assigned to a 25th INF DIV, which is light. We humped every where we went. But now they have the Stryker, so it is cool. Less walking. Or you could go heavey and get the FIST-V. As an FO (Forward Observer) you will be assigned to an infantry platoon. You can either live with the infantry or artillery (barracks), but in the field you will spend all of your time with your infantry platoon. I have never known a closer-knit, more loyal bunch in my life. I highly recommend that if you like that sort of thing, and being able to call for fire and watch stuff blow up, 13F is for you.
