I am a 92A SGT(P) with over 10 years of active federal service. I recently got clearance to return to duty from a MEB that I had to fight hard. I am still in a Warrior Transition Unit and want to reclass into 35S or maybe another intel MOS. I have all the prerequisites i.e. gt/clearance etc...I have seen that there is an out call for 92A SGT and got with my retention NCO awaiting word from DA. I know that my years of service hurts me but what can I realistically look foward to as my chances? My retention NCO says 50/50 but I would like another opinion. Thank you.

When is your ETS?

I am set to ETS Aug 09.

Effective immediately all Soldiers receiving medical care who are assigned to a Warrior Transition Unit (WTU) must obtain HRC approval to reenlist for any option other than Option 1, Regular Army Reenlistment Option. These measures are being implemented to preclude movement of a Soldier assigned to a WTU prior to completing his/her medical treatment.

You'll need to see your Career Counselor to initiate this request. Your Career Counselor must also email a copy of the return to duty memorandum to RMT signed by the official authorized to release Soldiers from a WTU; so have this available.

Warrior Transition Inventory as well as Some Basic Instructor courses as well. I am also a 92A and in WTU as well as fit for duty and a SGT.

Where are you going to go after you leave WTU are you awaiting orders or what?

Haven't seen anything in AKO yet. I believe that they are waiting on me to reenlist before cutting me orders and also I was told that there is a madatory 90 day wait in the WTU before moving on. Curious...have you heard of that message or ploicy that lets 92As like us to reclass at 12 years AFS if you have over 650 points? I was looking foward to a reclass. I am sick of plugging away at that 798. We get no love as 92As...just about any other MOS and I would be looking at E-7.
