my buddy just recenltly reenlisted for 4 more years as 11b and he got a bonus.he was asking if theres a possibility tha he can change his MOS to a shortage MOS.what will he have to do??

He's already in a shortage MOS.

If he wants to voluntary reclassify (to a shorter MOS), he'll have to voluntarily have his bonus recouped.

what if the mos that he wants to voluntarily reclass to is on the BEAR progam and its offering the same bonus amount when he reenlisted will he still have to give up his bonus....And if he does choose to recoupe his bonus,how will that work????? will it be a lump sum?

We could "what if" all day long, but it remains the same if he reenlisted, received an MOS bonus and requests a voluntary reclassification, he'll have his bonus recouped.

I'm not sure, but he may have a choice regarding recoupment of the bonus ... either one lump sum or broken up through his contract.

would a deployment bonus get recouped if you went to a different school?

Since we are on this topic, I re-up'd last year for a MOS bonus, but now I am on orders for Recruiting, which means I wont be working in my MOS for 3 years, I dont have to pay my bonus back do I? Its not like I am reclassing or going WO or OCS right?

I am in a similar situation. I reenlisted in February as an E6/15T. I'm in the process of trying to reclass to 35L. Since both of these are shortage MOS's would I Have to pay back my Bonus.Thank You for any assistance you can offer.
