I was wondering if I could re-enlist to become a 25M and what I would have to do.
Currently I'm an 11C E-5 and may go to the E-6 board in May if I re-enlist. My ETS date is June 22 2008.

I've talked to my retention NCO and currently he is stuck with a Hotline issue in which i need a INERM thing....I cant get one due to the fact my ets is close. So they are telling me i would have to extend to get it. Then put up the hotline to find out if i can get it.... and if i can't then ill have to be in for another year, and i dont want to be. It's either re up now as 25M or i'm out of the army.

Just make sure you have a solid plan before you ETS. Wink

I am a SSG 25M. When I came in 2002 I was not a US citizen so I coulden't get my clearence, I didn't get my clearance until 2007 so for them to say that is news to me. There are a couple of 25Ms that work with me at the Pentagon that don't have any clearance. So I don't know why they are changing the law when it comes to you.Make sure they are looking up 25m and not 25B.

This is NOT a "law" ... it's Army policy.

From the MOS Book ...
(7) A security eligibility of SECRET.
(a) Requirement for a SECRET security eligibility is effective 1 October 2007 for all new accessions into MOS 25M. Soldiers in the Delayed Entry Program (DEP) on or before 5 August 2007 with contracts for entry after 1 October 2007 are excluded from this requirement and will be processed as in-service personnel per paragraph 7(b) below.
(b) Requirement for a SECRET security eligibility is effective 1 October 2010 for all Soldiers holding MOS 25M who entered service prior to 1 October 2007 or were in the DEP per paragraph 7(a) above.

Absolutely not.

Why would the Army have a fully qualified 11C ETS and then pay for that fully qualified 11C enlist as prior service and pay for new training when current retention policy doesn't support this?

25M is balanced throughout.
