im a MP wanting to reclassing to eod but i need some questions answered before i do. one i have a year an a half left an currenly deployed so bye the time i come back ill be under a year. so i have to reenlist i plan on reenlistig for airborne an a deployment bonus. the problem is im a newly promtoed SGT an i will hit my one tig next feb. 01. so if i have a class date for airborne will it effect my eod school date or can eod push out the school after airborne as long as my paperwork is submited before im 1 yaer tig expires.any help would be appreciated.

You're wanting to reenlist for EOD in one statement and the other statement it seems you already have an EOD school date.

Are you going to reenlist for Airborne school while deployed and try to reclass to EOD when you get back?

I dont have a school date,ive been talking to one of the recruiters an the way im taking it is i would have one 90 days or so from redeployment. which would be the same time i would most likely be going to airborne school. so im wondering can i push either school out to a later date?

oh an to your question thats the plan to reenlist with a deployment bonus with airborne then eod but dont know if ill be passed my one year tig. 01feb2009 will be my one year. if we do a full 15 then we wont get back till mid jan. 2009

If you plan to go to EOD school, there is no need to attend airborne school. If you really want EOD, I wouldn't have them try to push your date out any further or you may be out of luck. The TIG clause is there for a reason. My husband has been in EOD now for 11 years and loves it.
